It is with great nostalgia that we announce the sale of Cholwill Plant and Equipment Hire.

In 1988, Hilary and I set up Cholwill Plant with our first 1.5 ton digger - husband and wife with a dream. In 2004 we expanded our business and bought Reeves Hire, merging the two together into what it is today.

For the past 35 years we have been dedicated to building and providing a professional but friendly, family run hire company but the time has come for us to take a step back, enjoy our retirement and quality time with our family.

We would like to wish the new owners, James and Tim Langmead of PAL RENTALS LTD, a successful and prosperous future with Cholwill Plant and Equipment Hire.

Myself, Hilary, Shaun and Hazel would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of our staff and customers who have supported us and used our services over the years.

Cholwill Plant + Equipment Hire is a hire business trading within the Holsworthy and surrounding areas based on Holsworthy Industrial Estate, established in 1988.

We have a wide range of hire equipment ranging from wheel barrows to mini diggers and our customers range from DIY'ers and gardeners to trade and construction.

We have a fleet of mini excavators - the 3.5 ton is a zero swing model costing just £312 per week, at the smaller end of the scale we have the 3/4 ton machine which will fit through a standard 27" doorway - ideal for back garden or indoor work. All machines are available self-drive. We run a range of site dumpers to compliment these excavators.

In the hire shop we stock home decorating equipment such as wallpaper strippers, and floor sanders - a popular hire item for reclaiming wooden floors.

For the garden there are turf cutters, lawn scarifiers and rotovators - with such large and expensive pieces of equipment it makes sense to hire

For building projects we stock popular items including electric breakers, plate compactors and cement mixers as well as concrete finishing machinery like beam screeds and power floats.

We carry sales stock which goes with our hire equipment - such as cutting blades and SDS drill bits along with other items like marker paints and personal safety equipment.

We have a weekly (Thursday) Saw Sharpening service where blades, rotabroach cutters, and pretty much anything that can be sharpened can be dropped off one week and picked up after 7 days. We also serve as a collection point for site levels etc which need calibrating and do repairs and services on small power tools.

We are located along River Tamar Way (the main road through the industrial estate) on the left, just beyond the first left turn.
